University of Virginia visit
April 15, 2016
Falcon Press staffer Catalina Perez visits the University of Virginia after she was accepted and considers the possibility of it being her new home for the next four years.
The University of Virginia (UVA) is primarily known for its academics and its overall prestige in areas of economics, language, liberal arts, and engineering, to name a few. UVA is also an “honor” based college in that its motto is based around an honor code that directs all students.
Ever since I was little, I dreamed of going to UVA. Seeing it for the first time, I was astounded by how nice the campus was and how everyone seemed to be so happy to be going there. My tour guide seemed to know everyone that he talked to even though he confided in us that he had only seen them a couple times. A main point that I noticed throughout the tour was how comfortable everyone was with each other. Everyone knew that they were at UVA because they had the qualifications to make it into such a nice school and it brought everyone together. Being accepted into UVA, I realize that it might become the place where I spend the next four years of my life and it is the best feeling knowing that I could end up in one of the best schools in Virginia.
