FRESHMAN ELI DILLS talks about his opinion on gun control.

Humans of CHS: Eli Dills

Recently, a new policy at Texas University now permits students to bring guns on campus grounds. Our staff writers have set out to hear the opinions of our own students here at Cox regarding this policy.

Q: “What do you think about guns on school campus?

A: “I don’t think that’s a very good idea because if you have guns, it’s a lot easier to lie about using them for the right reasons then it is to get them in the first place. There are people out there that want to shoot up the school, so I don’t think that’s a very good idea. I don’t see the reason for bringing a gun to school in the first place. What is there to do on school campus that you need a gun for?”

Q: What would you say to people who would like to bring guns to school? Do you have anything you would like to say to the students of Cox High School?

A: “What’s the reason? I don’t think bringing guns will lead you to feeling more safe. Like, if no one brought guns then there’s no reason to protect yourself. Don’t bring guns to school. That’s not a good idea.”
