DUAL ENROLLMENT ENGLISH students experience a real world learning experience, attending a library lecture at Tidewater Community College this morning. Students sat in on a lecture about conducting research.

Dual Enrollment teacher Kerstin Devlin and her students traveled to the Joint-Use Library at the Tidewater Community College (TCC) Virginia Beach campus this morning for a library lecture about conducting research.

“Being on campus allows these students to realize that they are actually college students and that they do have access to all of the resources that TCC offers,” Devlin said.

Dual Enrollment English classes do count as college level coursework, so along with an interactive lesson, students also experienced time in a collegiate setting.

Devlin’s students also received their TCC ID badges.

“It was my first college experience and I was surprised to see college in a real life situation,” senior Dual Enrollment student Savanah Pruitt said. “I didn’t have any idea students had so many options to explore.”
