JUNIOR KELSEY LIPSCOMB receives community service award

Junior Kelsey Lipscomb was recently awarded the Community Partners and Volunteers Award by Virginia Beach City Public Schools on Thursday, April 20, in conjunction with volunteers in education, the Virginia Beach council of PTAs, and the school’s PTA organization

Lipscomb was presented the prestigious award for her outstanding contributions in the community and her dedicated services for Care by Community.

The Care by Community program’s students tutor elementary age children at Cooke Elementary School.

“The program benefits both the student and the mentor because it teaches the mentor responsibility and it gives the student someone to look up to,” Lipscomb said.
