FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS are emotional as they celebrate their state championship win against FC last weekend.

The Varsity Field Hockey team won their 19th state title beating rivals First Colonial High School (FC) by a score of 2-1, finishing the season with a 19-4 record. In the fourth match-up this year between the two teams, the Falcons were able to come away with their first win largely in part to the team’s senior leadership.

Senior captain Alexis Gingerich has played center forward for four years and was looking not only to topple the nation’s third ranked team, but to redeem last year’s state title loss to FC.

“We were sick of losing to the them and we were determined to end our senior year on top,” Gingerich said.
