The Marching Falcons have had a successful start to their season, winning first place overall in their bracket in their first three competitions this year. Competing against Grassfield, Indian River, Landstown, and Princess Anne High Schools, the Falcons have managed to take home the first place trophy each time.

The Falcon Marching Band director is Mike Lane and under his leadership, the band has won several awards over the past five years.

“We’ve been in three competitions so far this year and we’ve won all three. We have done very well in music and visual and I hope to continue,” Lane said. “We have five competitions left and we are competing in the a championship in Lynchburg at the end of the season called the Virginia Marching Band Cooperative with many of the same bands that we have been competing with already. It is a group of bands that have agreed to participate in this competition together. Eventually the goal is an official Virginia State Championship, but this is the first year so hopefully we do well.”
