Catering student and faculty success

May 20, 2016

Catering classes went all in, preparing a faculty/staff brunch held in the library. The luncheon’s purpose, along with promoting the new catering cookbook, is to showcase new library resources and to connect with teachers.

Catering students Layne Rehak (11) and Anthony Ostulano (12) produced their specialty crepes: strawberry, apple with caramel, and savory cheese, ham, and mushroom this morning. Rehak and Ostulano also promoted class cookbooks developed from various recipes that students created for events throughout the year.

“I’d like to major in business so I’ve developed the cookbook idea as part of my Business Marketing class and perhaps one day I’ll be able to open my own restaurant,” Rehak said.

Faculty and staff can purchase the cookbooks for $10 and choose which cover they prefer for the front cover.

The lunch portion, prepared by Head Librarian Judy Rea and the library staff, will include five types of sandwiches, scones, fruit, etc.

“We wanted to showcase new materials we ordered in the last year, and hope teachers will let us know of DVD’s, books or other resources they’d like us to order,” Rea said. “The food is just an extra bonus.”
